Chapin carpet has a busy season. It starts Memorial Day weekend and ends with the Labor Day parade. That's when the house closest to the water fills up with cousins, wet towels, a couple of dogs that have been in Lake Murray all afternoon, and somebody's kid eating a popsicle on the sectional.
We're based in Chapin, so we see the September after. The lane everyone walks in from the deck goes gray. The rug by the slider smells like the lake. And the spot where the cooler sat for three days has a ring nobody wants to talk about.
What we do about the summer house
Your technician walks every room with you first, points out what will come up and what probably won't, and gives you the price before any equipment comes in the door. Then the heavy spots get a pre-treatment, and the carpet gets our carbonated carpet cleaning, which uses a lot less water than a steam rental. Most rooms are dry enough to walk on in an hour or so. That matters when you have guests coming back Friday.
Dog smells are their own job. If the lake dog has been marking the same corner, a surface clean will make it smell fine for a week and then the humidity brings it right back. Our pet odor treatment uses a live enzyme that goes down to the pad, where the problem actually lives. We'll tell you honestly if a spot has been soaked so many times that the pad needs replacing. Some have.
Our advice, for what it's worth: don't book the deep clean in June. Book it the week after Labor Day, when the boats are coming out and the house finally empties. You'll get the full summer's worth of dirt out at once.
Where we work around town
Most of our Chapin jobs land within a few miles of each other. One morning it's a lake house in Timberlake below the golf course, after lunch a two-story in Wessinger Farms, and then Night Harbor, off the same Old Lexington Hwy that runs past Crooked Creek Park. The older houses downtown along Columbia Ave and Clark St, a block from the tracks, get the same visit. A lot of our customers have kids at Chapin High School or Chapin Middle School, and the first weeks of the school year are exactly when they call. We run up and down US-76, Amicks Ferry Rd and I-26 at exit 91 all day, covering the town and the surrounding Lexington County communities.
