Little Mountain has been throwing a reunion since 1882. It's one of the oldest festivals in South Carolina, it brings people home from all over, and the local houses absorb a lot of that. Folks who grew up here come back and stay with family, and a three-bedroom house off I-26 at exit 85 ends up sleeping eleven.
(The Reunion is taking 2026 off, by the way, with plans to come back in 2027 at a new Reunion Park. The family-weekend problem doesn't take a year off.)
After the house has been full
Any big family weekend leaves the same marks: a dark path down the hallway to the one bathroom, a sofa that's been somebody's bed for three nights, and whatever got spilled at midnight that nobody owned up to. Then everybody leaves, life gets busy, and people live with it longer than they should.
We'd rather you didn't. Fresh spills are easy. Sweet tea and barbecue sauce usually come up well in the first week or two. Red fruit punch is a gamble at any age. Old ones, after a few months of humid weather, have soaked into the backing and gotten harder.
A visit starts with a look around the house and a price. You'll know which stains look likely to come out before you agree to anything. Spots get treated first. Then the carpet is cleaned with a carbonated solution and very little water, so you're not stepping around wet floors all afternoon. We don't leave soap in the fibers, and that's a big part of why the carpet stays clean longer afterward.
The sofa that served as a guest bed is often the worst piece in the house. Our upholstery cleaning handles fabric couches and chairs on the same trip, and it's priced separately with a $25 coupon. If the cousins brought dogs, add the pet odor treatment for whatever corner they claimed.
Getting out to Little Mountain
The town sits under the actual little mountain, a monadnock once called Ruff's Mountain, just a few exits up I-26 from Chapin. It's a quick trip for us, often quicker than getting across Chapin at school pickup. Most of our customers here live on country roads around town or along US-76, not in subdivisions, so just give us the road and a landmark if the GPS gets confused, which out here it sometimes does.
